January 27, 2020 – The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) will be escalating job action province-wide beginning on Monday, February 3, 2020 if no agreement is reached by January 31. This will include all ETFO members withdrawing from all extracurricular activities as part of their Phase 5 work-to-rule protocol.

With respect to walk-outs, our District will be impacted on the following days:

On Monday, February 3 and Thursday, February 6, all Renfrew County District School Board schools (Elementary and Secondary) will be closed to students.

Within our District, the ETFO represents:

• All Elementary Teachers
• Elementary Occasional Teachers
• Educational Assistants
• School Support Counsellors
• Other educational support personnel

Two SchoolMessenger communications will be issued to parents/guardians reminding them of the system closures; one on the evening of Sunday, February 2 and the other on the evening of Wednesday, February 5.

All Community Use of School Permits will be honoured and there will be no disruption on these strike days.
